FLASH DRIVE

I need a new media player. What's the difference between MP3  and MP4? What features should I look for?

  1. Hi, MP3 is de facto standard on portable music files, is a lossy data format that stores music; MP4 is a container which can hold audio/video on same file.
If you're looking for a media player, you should take account on: 1) supported formats 2) battery life 3)storage .

  2. Mp3 is a compressed digital audio format developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) to be part of version 1 and subsequently expanded version of the MPEG video format. Its name is an acronym for MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3.

MP4 (MPEG Layer 4) is for audio, images, text and video. This type of player does not need to file the same file incorporates one to run. The files take up 30% less than the MP3. The MP4 formats that make up a standard are: MP3, AAC and Apple Lossless (sound), MPEG-4, MPEG-4 and MPEG (video), JPG and PNG (image) and BT and XMT (subtitles)

There are several devices such as sony, apple, etc are easy to use and has enough storage

  3. Plays MP3 audio, ability to play with some id-tags or other encoding information on the issues that played audio.
The conclusion would be a MP3 -> AUDIO
Now we come to MP4, again the same thing will clarify that we are referring to MP4, not the compression format mp4.

  17. First, you should ask youself ¿what i wanna have in this media player, i only wanna listen the music or i wanna listen the song and see the videos too?

MP3 is an audio encoding system that reduces the size of files at about 10% its full lenght, so it is very popular; therefore the mp3 player only reproduce audio.
But MP4, is a very different thing. Is like an envelope or container format, is part of the MPEG 4 commonly apply to storing digital audio and/or video; therefore the mp4 player reproduce video and audio at the same time.

  19. Differences:
The mp3 player device can use compressed audio formats, has a small reading of filename audio screen. The device uses MP4 format compressed audio files, videos, text, images, also has a screen to display video.

    Recommendation:
When choosing must take into consideration the large number of files that can be mobilized in a single device and ease of visualization of the tasks, in all the many features, in my opinion recommend MP4.

  20. The choice between one of these devices boils down to my need.
If you only want to listen to music with limited reproduction formats serious choice mp3 player. But if I want a wider choice of formats reproduction range, multiple save files, play videos and pictures the perfect choice would be a mp4 player.
To this must be added the cost factor.

Mp3 or Mp4 players, the difference is simply in the format of the audio or video information is stored. Both players are very compact for which it is difficult to choose one.
    The choice is your decision.
